Introduction
The Introductory Certificate in Marketing is a 45 hour online course accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing which has been designed to appeal to a wide range of people who may wish to develop a basic understanding of the principles and practice of marketing. The course aims to provide the building blocks from which a deeper and fuller appreciation of marketing can be developed and will help individuals take steps towards achieving personal, learning and career goals.

Introductory Certificate in Marketing
The Introductory Certificate in Marketing is for anyone over the age of 17 wishing to gain the basic skills in marketing.
It is not necessary to have any previous experience or knowledge of marketing to join this course. You may already be working or you may be looking for a job.
The Introductory Certificate in Marketing is a short marketing course (45 hours) delivered through distance learning (home study). The content is delivered through online tutorials with audio. An eTutor will be available to support study.

Unit 2: The Application of Marketing - The tools of marketing - Marketing in context
The aims and objectives of the CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing are:- To show how a range of environmental factors can influence how an organisation operates.
- To explore methods of research and information gathering and their relationship to marketing practice.
- To highlight the importance of understanding how customers make buying decisions, and the factors that affect those decisions.
- To help students identify target markets and use appropriate techniques for addressing those markets.
- To demonstrate how information and communications technology can be harnessed for use in marketing applications.
- To illustrate the application of marketing principles in a wide range of organizational contexts.

1. Two Assignments; - Essentials of Marketing - The Application of Marketing
2. One Multiple Choice Question Exam - One hour with 30 questions
